Greetings, friends!
It’s hard to believe it’s already the middle of December! This year has flown by, and the past few weeks have been the busiest of all. I hope you’re doing well and are looking forward to the holidays.
In my last blog post, I introduced my Late Summer Walk collection. That feels like ages ago! Since then, I’ve created three more collections, a 2025 calendar (Available on Etsy & Zazzle!), and a handful of standalone designs. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you might have seen some of them already. If not, here are links to the reels—let me know what you think! There is one more collection ready to go but I'm saving it for January.
I love designing motifs and repeating patterns, but I’ve discovered that creating video reels to showcase them is just as much fun! I would love your feedback on the animations, music, and overall content of these reels. Lately, I’ve been using Canva for most of my animations and videos, and I’m thinking about making a tutorial to show you how I do it. Would you be interested? Let me know in the comments!
Fun fact: In the Gingerbread and Holly reel, the animations match up with the music. For example, when the song says, “Let it Snow,” animated snowflakes fall, and the cinnamon swirls twirl when the lyrics say, “Ooh, wee"! It wasn’t intentional at first, but once I noticed it, I adjusted the timing—and now it makes me chuckle every time I watch it!
As we head into the new year, I’ll share more updates about what’s been happening behind the scenes at CreekStreet Studio and my plans for 2024. I hope to have another blog post for you before Christmas.
Holiday Freebie: I created a coloring page from the Candy Cane Cookie motifs in the Gingerbread & Holly collection. Click here to download your free copy! The password is (candycanes)
Wishing you all the best as you prepare for the holidays!
Warmly,
Susan
